Bury chief suspended amid investigation

Bury MBC has suspended its chief executive, Mike Owen, pending the full outcome of an independent review into the handling of a historical safeguarding case.

Mr Owen, a former president of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, is understood to deny any wrongdoing but was unavailable for comment this week.
