Council hits back after MP calls for abolition

Telford & Wrekin Council has said calls from an MP for its abolition are an ‘insult to democracy and residents’.

Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski tweeted he was ‘seeking legal, financial and constitutional advice from key local and national stakeholders as to how we present an iron-clad business case to Government’ for the abolition of the council.
