Don’t overlook the power of peer reviews

Liverpool City Council is robust and forthright. It is clear from the council’s peer review that members are not backward in giving their views – particularly in the council chamber – and it seems the council was strident in its approach to the LGA’s corporate peer challenge.

Clearly, from the documents seen by The MJ, the report has had some significant changes – but whether Liverpool’s intervention over the original draft was fair or overbearing appears to be a matter of dispute.
