Former Tory minister urges changes to Levelling Up Bill

Deprived areas could be ‘left further behind’ as a result of planning changes in the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill, a former Tory minister has said.

Eddie Hughes, a housing minister under former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has given his backing to a report from the Centre for Social Justice think-tank that concluded the proposed infrastructure levy could undermine the Government's levelling up policy.
