Government brushes off Kara criticism

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has brushed off criticism from a top auditor.

Writing on a blog, executive leader for local services at the National Audit Office, Abdool Kara, warned that conditions attached to central government funding ‘risk creating a centralised local authority financial system where the scope for local discretion is being eroded’.
