Keeping it local to tackle net zero

Core Cities UK has almost completed a programme that saw us engage with national politicians across all parties on the importance of cities and urban areas.

The fringes and conversations held during conference season have proved a useful barometer for how our strong evidence base for investment in urban areas is landing nationally. There is still work to do – too many fringes start from the assumption only national solutions will work and the role of powerful, proactive local government often doesn’t even make it into the conversation.
