Looked after children has greatest potential for improvement

Financial officers at local authorities believe that the greatest potential for improving children’s services is in the area of looked after children, new research has suggested.

According to an analysis of children’s social care services by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and consultancy PeopleToo, looked after children is the one service where councils face the greatest challenges.
