‘Partial reset’ plan for business rate retention is mooted

Members of the systems design working group appear to be leaning towards favouring a ‘partial reset’ in which individual councils would retain half of the growth in business rates income that they had achieved during the previous five years.

The rest of the growth in rates income would be returned to the national resource pot to be redistributed.
