Peers call on Liverpool to improve politics

Councillors in Liverpool City Council need to improve the way its politics are played out in the council chamber, its latest peer review has found.

The LGA Corporate Peer Challenge, conducted in June, found the council had an ‘excellent’ Inclusive Growth Plan and increased innovation and commercialisation across the council. It said the council had been successful in addressing the financial challenges it had faced, with a 58% budget reduction.
