It has been no surprise that this summer has seen a continuation of council financial sustainability issues hitting the headlines as we’ve spent years as a sector talking about funding reform.
The list of requirements just keeps growing – rates reset, New Homes Bonus, social care, homelessness and waste. And let’s not forget fair funding, which has been around for so long it has even changed its name to ‘the review of needs and resources’.
