Tax the internet to save high street, retail bosses tell MPs

The reform of business rates is essential to saving high streets, the country’s top retailers have told MPs.

The Housing Communities and Local Government Select Committee also heard this afternoon that a tax on internet traders is needed to level the playing field with their bricks and mortar counterparts.
