Welsh local government secretary wants new merger plan by autumn

Wales’ new local government secretary has called for a ‘wider conversation’ about reorganisation and a new plan to be in place by the autumn.

Speaking to BBC Wales yesterday, Mark Drakeford confirmed last year’s proposals to cut the number of councils from 22 to eight or nine have now been scrapped.
