Chancellor’s ‘age of optimism’ doesn’t ring true for council finances

I wish London boroughs could share the chancellor’s view that we’re now in an age of optimism.

After all, we’re entirely agreed on the positive ambitions of building back better after the pandemic and levelling up the UK’s disadvantaged communities.
