Get ready for £9.5bn funding gap in 2020 warns LGA

Councils could be facing a funding gap of £9.5bn by the end of the next Parliament, the Local Government Association (LGA) has warned.

The LGA’s annual Future Funding report claims councils will face a funding gap of £6bn by 2016/17 if they maintain the same levels of service they are currently providing and that figure will rise to around £9.5bn by 2019/20.
