Kent to vote on devolution deal

Kent CC councillors will vote this week on whether to kick-start talks with the Government on a devolution deal with a directly-elected mayor or leader.

A directly-elected mayor and potential local government reorganisation have been previous sticking points but the impact of social care on finances has now driven Kent and Medway to look at devolution afresh.
