MHCLG rejects performance call

Marsham Street has rejected MPs’ call to publish a regular breakdown of council performance across a range of services.

In its response to a report on councils’ financial sustainability by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the summer, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) said it had no plan to return to Audit Commission-style performance assessments.
