Minister warns of 'consequences' for mismanagement

Levelling up secretary Simon Clarke has warned of ‘consequences’ for councils that are unable to balance their books.

In his speech to the Conservative Party Conference, Mr Clarke spoke of the need to ‘crack down on mismanagement,’ highlighting the failings of Nottingham City Council, Thurrock BC and Croydon LBC.
