By the time you read this, the excitement of electioneering, both nationally and locally, will have hopefully begun to subside.

I would like to pay tribute to the many ‘unsung heroes’ who work within member services.

It is these staff, whose skills, knowledge and experience often guide, nurture and support newly-elected councillors to navigate the complex world of cabinets, committees, scrutiny and dispute resolution.
