Councils were this week urged to bid for pilot cash from a £25m innovation fund to develop localised support for unpaid carers.
A House of Lords committee hearing yesterday said it was concerned that amid ongoing care reforms the role of unpaid carers – approximately 5.6 million people - could be overlooked.
