Don't wait for the planet to send a warning shot

The news that there is now a 66% chance we will pass the 1.50C global warming threshold before 2027 made headlines.

In most developed nations, the public sector is the largest economic driver. That means it is also likely to have one of the biggest environmental impacts too. What can the public sector do, at least in the short- to medium-term, to better understand its impact?

Sustainability reporting is the recording and disclosing of environmental and sustainability-related impacts that an organisation has. Currently, the practice in the private sector is much more developed. In the public sector it is very much in its infancy.
