How to take on the healthcare funding challenge

Every chief executive in local government knows that austerity will continue throughout the life of the next Parliament.

Managers also know that with the NHS and care swallowing up bigger and bigger slices of the diminished public spending pot there will be even less available to distribute to other services.

The future of public spending therefore hinges on how health and care is to be funded, and radical solutions are required.
