MPs say ‘no’ to rates levy spend for housing

MPs have rejected calls to allow the infrastructure levy to be spent on housing under 100% business rates retention.

Ministers want to introduce the supplement as a new power for elected mayors at combined authorities and the Greater London Assembly (GLA) – a limited roll-out that many in local government want to go further.
